簡介

Growing up in a pastor’s family, Dr Lee confirmed his call to full-time ministry when he was 16. He studied Chinese and English Literature at the HKU in the mid-seventies, and, after serving with the Independent Commission Against Corruption for 27 months, pursued divinity training in Edinburgh and Princeton, completing a joint-honours BD in Old Testament & systematic theology, and a ThM in historical theology. During the 6 years of church planting in Hong Kong and Vancouver, he also taught as a visiting lecturer at the Alliance Bible Seminary, China Graduate School of Theology, and Regent College.

Upon obtaining his Old Testament doctorate as faculty-in-preparation from Edinburgh, Dr Lee joined CGST in 1993, leading the faculty as Dean from 1995 to 2005. He subsequently moved to Toronto, and served as consulting pastor of Richmond Hill Christian Community Church, visiting professor of Canadian Chinese School of Theology, and Old Testament editor-in-chief of the Contemporary Chinese Version translation project. Returning to Hong Kong in 2012, Dr Lee has been appointed the president and Lam Ko Kit Tak professor of Biblical studies at CGST since August, 2013, and was ordained by the Hong Kong Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in December 2014.

His publications include Creation and Redemption in Isaiah 40-55 (HK: ABS 1995), A Layman’s Guide to the Old Testament (HK: Renewal 1997, 2015 in simplified Chinese characters), Obadiah, Jonah and Micah (Chinese Bible Commentary 24, co-authored, HK: CCLC 2002), Moulded by His Word: Faculty Sermons Celebrating CGST’s 40th Anniversary (edited, HK: CCL 2015 in traditional / simplified Chinese characters), 16 Questions We Dare Not Ask at Church (HK: CAP 2017), Along with Moses: Finding Life Wisdom in Torah (Taipei: CEF 2018), and around 50 sets of Bible exposition CDs.
