The Redevelopment of Dorset Campus
May 2005
Due to the development of ministries and the increasing number of CGST students, both the Devon and Dorset Campuses were utilized to their maximum capacity. At the same time, the long-term battles with white ants and flooding required immediate improvement. So, when the property at 10 Dorset Crescent went on the market, the board, after thorough consideration, decided to purchase the property and redevelop the Dorset Campus, while selling the Suffolk property to alleviate the School's financial burden.
The budget for the Dorset Redevelopment was HK$60million. |

March 2006
Demolition of the Dorset Campus started and was scheduled to be completed by early April. The government requirement to preserve the designated heritage building that was attached to the buildings at 10 Dorset Crescent necessitated extra care during demolition. The heritage building would form part of the new campus building upon its completion. As the tendering process started at this stage, prayer requests included the wisdom to choose the right contractor and the safety of the construction site workers during the whole project.

From removal to demolition of the Dorset Campus, we witnessed God's abundant grace – the smooth relocation of the administration offices to the Devon Campus, the perfect coordination of the staff, and the quick resumption to normal operation of the various departments. Left-over resources from the Dorset Campus were donated to students and churches of the alumni. Some of the recipients reciprocated with love offerings. We were thankful and offered praises to our Lord. Before the completion of the new Dorset Campus, all activities including classes and small group discussions had to be held at the Devon Campus, with the full support and understanding of our professors, students and staff.

May 2006
Thanks to God for His guidance and care, demolition of the Dorset Campus was completed. With the grace of God, the heritage building was successfully moved intact to one corner. With the contractor tendering work still in progress, our prayer requests included asking God to grant us the wisdom to choose the contractor He prepared for us. |

After the demolition of the Dorset Campus, our staff at both the Devon Campus and the Cornwall office gradually got used to working in a smaller space. Although the relocation caused some inconvenience to staff and students, there were no complaints and members of the CGST family got even closer to one another. We praise God for the CGST family.
December 2006
At 10am on November 11, a brief ground breaking ceremony was held. A total of 250 people, including board members, professors, consultants, contractors, staff, students, alumni and supporters, came together to attend the ceremony.

January 2008
After a year, redevelopment of the Dorset Campus came to an end. We were now working on the internal decoration of the building. We asked God to give our architect and staff the wisdom to choose the right contractor. It was expected that we would be able to move into the new campus in the second half of the year.

In August 2007, a family pledged to donate HK$10 million and challenged other supporters to match their donation. As at the end of October 2007, by the abundant grace and providence of the Lord, we raised a total of HK$11,250,000. Together with the commitment of the HK$10 million from the family, a total of HK$21,250,000 was raised. To date, we have received a total of HK$52 million for the project. As we look beyond the number, we experienced God's presence and His wonderful grace. |
