CHINA GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

The vision of China Graduate School of Theology began during the 1960's among four Chinese divinity students at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. CGST is today a family of 20 full-time faculty, 516 graduate students and 1,750 alumni serving across denominations and para-church and mission organizations in and out of Hong Kong.

CGST aims to equip Christian graduates for spiritual leadership in the Chinese Church. Theologia for us is a life-shaping discipline; to be rooted firmly in the Word of God remains the key for cultivating a life of dedicated piety and humble service. In addition to regular PhD, ThM, MDiv, MCS and DipCS programs, we offer a two-year MCS in marriage and family counselling, and a part-time MCS focusing on 'Christians in the Marketplace' and a part-time MBS/DipBS for the Putonghua speaking Christian leaders. Our extension Certificate courses are available with several emphases.

John Naisbitt forecasts in Megatrends Asia the emergence of 30 mega-cities in Asia by 2010, and he points to Hong Kong as one success case of urbanization. Critical reflections on our theological struggle for contextualization will contribute to the future growth of Asian and Chinese metropolitan churches facing the challenge of a new millennium.

REGENT COLLEGE

For more than 30 years, Regent College has been a unique place to study. Continuing the vision of its founders, Regent takes seriously the education, nurturing and equipping of the laity—the whole people of God—to live and work as servant leaders in vocations within the home, the marketplace, and the church. Regent encourages a vibrant Christianity that affirms the primacy of personal godliness and the importance of spiritual and intellectual integration in all walks of life. To this end, the College also prepares Christian leaders who will further this mission through the ministry of the local congregation.

Nearly 700 (350 full-time equivalent) students are enrolled in full- and part-time studies at Regent College during the academic year. Spring and Summer Schools and off-campus extension courses also enable many more to benefit from the rich curricular offerings of the College.
