HONG KONG SUMMER SCHOOL 2010 : June 7-11

Hong Kong Summer School 2008

FINE PRINT & SCHEDULE

Location

CGST is a seminary in the city. Located near the subway (MTR) station, the school is accessible from all parts of Hong Kong. However, we also enjoy the tranquility of a beautiful neighbourhood which is home to the City University, Baptist University, and a number of international schools as well.

Accommodation/Meals

CGST does not have residences of its own. International students should contact their local travel agents for information of hotels and hostels. Hot meals, sandwiches and beverages will be served at our canteen every day. Tickets can be bought on the spot. There is also a good selection of restaurants, coffee shops and fast food outlets within ten minutes walk from campus.

Books

We will send you the course outline for the particular course you have enrolled in, along with a list of required readings. Book order service is available to students registered before April 30, 2010 and ordered books can be picked up on the first day of Summer School. If you prefer direct mailing, you may purchase the required books from the Regent Bookstore. (Website: www.regentbookstore.com; Fax: 1-604-2243097; E-mail: bookstore@regent-college.edu) Textbooks, books authored by the summer school faculty and a selection of books relevant to the courses and lectures will be made available for purchase during Summer School.

Chapel

There will be a chapel service on Monday from 10:15-10:45am. All students of Summer School, whether in morning or afternoon classes, are welcome to participate.

Evening Public Lecture

As part of the summer school, there will be 2 free public lectures. On Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-9:00pm, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Hastings will speak on “Is Private Christian Counselling a Contradiction in Terms?” and “Will the Real Missio Dei Please Stand Up?” For more details, please visit our website www.cgst.edu/summerschool/ep_lecture2010.asp.

Visa and Medical Insurances

Visitors from most countries can enter Hong Kong without a visa for periods of seven days to six months, depending on nationality. Check with your local Chinese embassy or consulate for the latest status. Students are strongly recommended to acquire their own medical/travel insurance to cover any medical expenses incurred during their stay in Hong Kong.
